Pastoral Care
Providing quality pastoral care is a priority of mine. In addittion to working with the Pastoral Care team at Cedar Lane, I have also co-led a regional training on pastoral care. I serve as a Chaplain with the Civil Air Patrol Parkland Squadron and am a part of the Montgomery County Interfaith Response team. I have served as a member of the Lee County Emergency Services Spiritual Care Team and a volunteer Chaplain at Naples Community hospital. In 2016 I became a member of the UU Trauma Response Ministry team. My work in Trauma Ministry has required additional training and certifications that have translated well to the parish ministry setting. I excel in helping people move through challenging times in one-to-one meetings, group work, as well as through whole church rituals and vigils.
I have worked with people of all ages in need of pastoral care, from birth through late adulthood. As a former Lay Campus Minister, I am also well versed in the special needs of our youth and young adults who are attempting to navigate the world, which is full of economic, ecological and social challenges.
As part of my work with All Faiths Unitarian and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Charlotte County, I had the pleasure of coordinating care with lay pastoral care teams. Each congregation I have worked with has utilized a different model of care, they are all effective for different reasons.
